It’s the day after Shavuot, and whereas we frequently feel a bit low after a celebration, not to mention too much eating, this year I have wonderful news to share!
Our “Counting the Omer” project is finished and we have raised over $21,000 including the matching grant! This is wonderful. With this money, 14 much needed water tanks will be placed in the most devastated areas in Kenya. Each tank holds 10,000 liters of water which, if used sparingly, sustains families, orphanages, and schools during the drought season. Children who were suffering, will now have access to clean drinking water. Our B’nai Torah Omer project is literally saving lives!
Below you will find the link to the news release about the project*. And you will also see some pictures of the children and the water and the tanks…
A special thanks goes to the very inspirational, Michelle Stark. We pray that the work of her hands will be blessed.
And THANK YOU to all who have contributed. We made this counting particularly meaningful. And I know you join me in every expression of gratitude possible for all that we have and our capacity to be amongst those who share and help others in the world.
See you in shul.
