Choosing to explore Judaism is a significant step and who guides you matters. That’s why this course is led by Rabbi Evan Susman, one of South Florida’s most engaging and beloved young rabbis, along with expert guest instructors who bring specialized knowledge to topics throughout the program.

Rabbi Susman is known for making Jewish learning feel approachable, joyful, and deeply personal. His teaching style is warm and conversational—less lecture, more dialogue. Whether he’s unpacking ancient texts, sharing stories from his own spiritual journey, or connecting Jewish wisdom to modern life, Rabbi Susman creates a space where questions are welcomed and every voice matters.

A proud Miami Beach native, Rabbi Susman was ordained at the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in Los Angeles. He has spent over a decade working with Jewish camps, teens, young adults, and families to bring his passion for music, storytelling, and community-building to everything he does.

Beyond the classroom, you might find Rabbi Susman composing music, preparing Shabbat dinner, on the golf course, or traveling with his wife, Emily. His creativity and genuine warmth make him the ideal guide for anyone beginning their Jewish journey.

“I believe learning about Judaism should feel alive and personal. I want every student to walk away not just knowing more, but feeling more connected — to themselves, to community, and to Jewish life.” – Rabbi Evan Susman
